Kaye: “It’s Fantastic”
James Kaye today made his return in the British Touring Car Championship after four years out of the championship as he took part in free practice one at Donington Park.
“It’s fantastic. We’re very lucky to be here,” said Kaye.
Talking about the goal for the weekend Kaye said, “It’s the first time we’ve ever run this car. Our goal this weekend is to get the team to work well and to try out the car. We’ve done no testing with the car and its’ a car that’s not been run for two years.”
James Kaye is the fourth driver on the grid in the BTC-spec Honda Integra which was formerly that of Matt Neal, David Pinkney and John George since 2005.
Kaye could only manage a time of 1:13.937 which was good enough to give him 16th place during the first practice session of the day.
