New NGTC Prototype Drawings Released

The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship organisers have shown the first pictures of the new prototype Next Generation Touring Car based on the Toyota Avensis.

The Toyota Avensis looks set to make its public debut at the season finale where it will participate in Saturday’s practice sessions with a view to entering in the race, but that is yet to be confirmed.

“These artist’s impressions, rendered from the actual vehicle currently being built, show what a great looking car the new regulations will produce,” said Alan Gow, series director. “I’ve no doubt that a lot of people will be very impressed when they see the actual car at Brands Hatch.”

The car is currently being built by the Buckinghamshire team GPR Motorsport with the help of former BTCC champion, James Thompson, who is helping with the testing.

2011 will see the rules and regulations allow full S2000, S2000 with NGTC engines, and full NGTC spec cars in the championship.
