Hollamby Sets Sights On 2011

Shaun Hollamby was understandably disappointed with the engine problems which the team suffered at Silverstone resulting in Shaun having to pull out of Sunday’s races but says that the team are already planning for the 2011 season with three rounds still to play for in the current season.

AmD Milltek Racing made their debut in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship in the first race of the season at Thruxton using the VW Golf – a car that hadn’t been seen in the championship for 21 years – and they plan on using the car next year too with a possible two driver team.

Hollamby sounded confident that the team would be using a turbo engine next year but choosing the route to go down would be difficult. “We could go down the route of the SEAT which Special Tuning have done, or we could use the 2.0L turbo Golf engine or even using the TOCA engine from Swindon-Engines. We’re looking forward to it but it’ll be a busy winter we think.”

Hollamby went on to add, “We’ve got interested in somebody driving a Golf for next year.”
