Forster Motorsport Miss Knockhill
Martin Depper and Arthur Forster will both miss the next round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship as Forster Motorsport try and concentrate on repairing Depper’s BMW 320si after it suffered heavy front end damage during race three at Silverstone.
Martin Depper started the third race of the day from 15th on the grid but failed to negotiate the stricken Chevrolet Cruze of Alex MacDowall who had stalled on the grid. A heavy impact caused huge front end damage to the BMW causing Martin to retire, leaving oil over the circuit in the process.
Depper said to btcc.net, “Obviously there’s disappointment in not being able to do Knockhill but you have to accept that sometimes these things can happen in motor sport. What’s important is the team has not messed about in two minds – it’s taken the decision and now can put all its efforts into using the next four weeks or so to make sure the car is right for Donington.”
Forster Motorsport have found it hard this season after missing the opening round of the season due to late engine arrivals and Martin Depper also missing out at Rockingham after the Volcano Ash debacle. Forster Motorsport are yet to score any points in the drivers championship but have 7 points between then in the Independent Drivers championship and 40 points in the Independent Teams championship.
