Pinkney Earns Points Finish At Snetterton

David Pinkney battled his way to a 9th place finish in the final race of the day to secure his sixth points finish of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season.

David’s day didn’t go to plan from the get go as running wide at Coram in the first race resulted in him picking up damage to the front of his car on just the second lap after qualifying in 14th place.

Starting from the back of the grid a good solid performance saw him avoid the incidents and finish just outside the points in an eventual 11th place, just one place outside what would have been pole for the final race of the day.

David started race three from 11th on the grid which he would command for much of the race before passing both Lea Wood and the BMW of Andy Neate to take 9th and two points from the final race of the day.

“We can’t complain with eleventh and ninth after the way race one came to an end,” he reflected afterwards. “We know we still have work to do on the car as we are lacking front-end grip, which was partly to blame for what happened in the first race, but we bounced back with two solid races after that.

“Missing the test here didn’t help us and meant we were on the back foot back a bit coming into the weekend but we scored some points and in the last race, it was good to be involved in a fight on track. At the end of the day, we are here to race, and it gets the adrenaline running when you are involved in a battle like we were.”
