Shedden Takes His Third Win Of Season

Gordon Shedden, the 31 year old Scotsman took the third race win of the day and his third win of the season at Snetterton earlier today with a convincing drive from the start.

Gordon Shedden started from third on the grid but a poor start from his team-mate, Matt Neal, and a retirement from James Nash meant that he would lead the race after just 2 laps and that’s where he would finish without any pressure from the other drivers.

For the majority of the race it looked as if it was going to be another Honda Racing 1-2 this season but Rob Collard left it until the final lap to make a move coming out of the Esses to spoil the Honda party. The move that Collard made  resulted in contact with Neal and Collard coming over the line in 2nd.

Chilton rounded out a brilliant day for himself and Team Aon by finishing in 4th place. He was looking for three podium finishes today but I don’t think he’ll be too worried about his 4th place finish as he managed to keep championship leader, Jason Plato, and Steven Kane behind him for the duration of the race.

Behind Kane was his team-mate Mat Jackson which will give the Airwaves BMW a good points haul from todays racing from Snetterton and help them in the Independants championship.

O’Neill did well to finish in 8th and take points away from the final race of the season after starting from the back of the grid following his retirement out of race two. He was followed by Dave Pinkney and Andy Neate who rounded out the top 10.

Alex MacDowall will be very disappointed from today as he failed to take any points from today’s racing despite starting race one from pole position.

Plato’s two race wins and a 5th place finish means that he heads into Silverstone in two weeks time commanding a 20 point lead ahead of his nearest rival, Matt Neal.
