Plato Fears Team Aon Pace

In his own word’s, Jason Plato will be looking to be “the first non-gas car” this weekend as the teams arrive at Snetterton for round 6 of the season after the long summer break.

“If they [Arena] don’t destroy the opposition this weekend then they need to look very hard at themselves, their drivers and their engineers.” said Plato speaking to Autosport.

Team Aon have been dominant with their straight line speed down to their turbocharged LPG engine which has enabled them to take the last four pole positions aswell as topping time time sheet at the recent test at Snetterton.

Plato goes into this weekend just 8 points adrift of fellow rival Matt Neal and will be looking to close the gap at the high speed Norfolk circuit and has welcomed the effort and work that the RML Silverline Chevrolet team have put in during the break.

“So far this season we’ve had a problem that when you attack a lap, the car gets very nervous and there’s a lot of oversteer. We’ve needed to understand why this happens and get the car working better on the Dunlop tyres.”

He went on to say, “RML are pretty sure they’ve got to the bottom of it now, and the result was that the car felt better than it has at any time I’ve driven it before. We’ve a fair bit to be optimistic about for the rest of the year.”
