MacDowall Fastest in Morning Session

MacDowall Fastest in Morning Session

Alex MacDowall showed his true pace this morning in the first of two, three hour sessions at Snetterton by setting the fastest time and topping the time sheets.

MacDowall was one of three drivers to enter the 1:11′s with Paul O’Neill and Jason Plato following suit. All three drivers were separated by a mere 0.016 when the chequered flag fell with MacDowall setting a time of 1:11.971.

James Nash came home with the fourth fastest time of the session, followed by Tom Chilton who had previously held the fastest time for much of the day. Jordan set the 6th fastest time but it wasn’t all plain sailing as he pulled over at the Esses with what looked to be an overheating problem.

Jordan was followed by Tom Onslow-Cole and then a series of BMW’s headed by Mat Jackson in the Airwaves BMW. Neate looked to be struggling with brake balance as he locked up multiple times coming into Russel Bend and finally went into a spin on the exit of the Esses later on.

Shaun Hollamby will be disappointed with this morning’s performance after the team have spent the summer break improving the car but finds himself over two seconds a drift with a time 1:14.257.

The afternoon session will be underway at 2pm so don’t forget to follow the commentary here.
