Hollamby: “I love Croft”

Shaun Hollamby says that he’s looking forward to round five of the season as the team prepares for the trip to Croft this weekend.

Speaking to BTCC Crazy, Shaun said, “Overall our race pace is getting a lot closer to the race leaders. We’re still suffering from oversteer problems, and I think we’re the only team on the grid that has that problem so if we get that sorted I feel we can get closer still.”

“I love Croft. I’m looking forward to it. From past experiences I know it suits my style of driving. It’s probably one of the more technical tracks on the calendar and one that I’ve done well on in the past.”

Shaun Hollamby has been driving the VW Golf this season, the first time it has been entered for over 20 years, and feels that the car still has more to give. “We’re about 40bhp down on the top drivers on most circuits which equates to about 10mph slower through the speed traps. If we can find the extra 40bhp then I could probably shave a second off my lap times.”

2010 is the teams first season in the MSA Dunlop British Touring Car Championship but the team are already looking to long term plans for next season. “We’ve already had discussions with another driver for next season when we hope to be able to upgrade to a 2L turbo engine and run a two car team in the championship.”
