Team Aon to build third Focus chassis
Mike Earle and his Team Aon outfit will look to field a three car line-up for round six of the season at Snetterton.
Andy Constable, the team’s commercial manager, spoke to Motorsport News and said, “It was always our plan to put another car out there and we are in a position to do it now. We are in advanced talks with two drivers about the seat and we will conclude those shortly.” The team will use the seven week gap between Croft and Snetterton to build a third chassis.
Team Aon, after switching to the LPG fuel source at the start of the year, with drivers Tom Chilton and Tom Onslow-Cole have seen considerable improvements and has already achieved three pole positions and three race wins out of the first four race meetings. Team Aon are now considered as a serious contender to the title with six rounds of the season still yet to go.
Tom Onslow-Cole currently lies in 4th position in the drivers championship with the team in 3rd behind Honda Racing Team and Airwaves BMW in the team championship.
