Neate excluded from final race
Andy Neate was today handed an exclusion from race three at Oulton Park yesterday after his collision at the Island Bend with Andrew Jordan was deemed to be an avoidable accident.
This means that Andy Neate will lose his 9th place finish which he achieved in the final race of the day after he made contact with Andrew Jordan which resulted in Jordan being spun off into the tyre wall. His exclusion now means that Paul O’Neill has been promoted to 9th and Gordon Shedden into the final points place in 10th.
Jordan described his version of events, “I had two run-ins with Neate in the last race and the second one he just went into the side of me so I was sandwiched between the two WSR cars which turned me round into the wall and ended my race.”
Along with the exclusion, Neate was also handed a four-point penalty to his competition license aswell as a six-place grid penalty for the next race at Croft.
Dick Bennetts and West Surrey Racing appealed against the decision but subsequently lost their appeal.
This comes after Mat Jackson was also handed a two-point penalty to his license after his contact with Jason Plato in race one.
