Plato makes up for lost time

Jason Plato set the fastest time of the day in the second test session after a problem with his car’s steering forced him to sit out the whole of the first session. Plato set the time of 48.662 seconds with about half an hour of the session remaining. This demoted Gordon Shedden to second, after the Scot had sat top of the standings for the majority of the session. Tom Chilton was once again in the top three whilst this morning’s pace setter, Steven Kane was fourth. It was an interesting session that saw the pack separated by a fraction over 2.5 seconds.

The two Vectras running the NGTC turbocharged engines were surprisingly down in twelfth and thirteenth positions respectively.

Neither Forster Motorsport driver ran in the session whilst Shaun Hollamby did but his transponder failed meaning his lap times weren’t recorded.

There wasn’t much drama bar Andy Neate’s trip into the gravel trap at Paddock Hill Bend and Steven Kane’s similar mishap at Druids.

Today’s sessions give fans plenty to digest before the season begins in eleven days time at Thruxton.
