Today is the first time that David Pinkney has managed to test his ex-VXR Vauxhall Vectra, which he has installed the new NGTC TOCA engine into, ready for the 2010 season.

David Pinkney has gone the same route as Andrew Jordan, who has also purchased the Vectra, and like Pinkney, will be running the 2L turbocharged engine. Jordan tested the car earlier in the month and reported that the car was a lot heavier over the front wheels but is helped by the torque and drive out of the engines.

So far Pinkney and Jordan are the only two drivers to take up on the NGTC initiative which allows drivers to use the turbocharged engine a year before the NGTC rules come into practice in a bid to cut team cost’s by over half.

Pinkney will be joining Matt Neal and Andrew Jordan at Brands Hatch today.
