Motorbase Driver Line-up Imminent

Motorbase Performance are one of the numerous teams yet to finalise their driver line up with less than 13 days left until the Media Day, the first official test session of the season, at Brands Hatch.

The team have been in talks with numerous drivers such as Tim Bridgman, Alex MacDowall, as well as Ben Collins and past drivers Steven Kane and Rob Collard who are all looking to secure a seat for the 2010 season. Mat Jackson’s name has also been mentioned as a possible candidate for the Motorbase team. Mat Jackson raced the BMW 320si back in 2007 and 2008 for his own Jackson M Sport team so will already have experience in the car.

David Bartrum, team boss, said to Kent News, “We’re talking to everyone we can. It’s a really difficult time at the moment. We can’t sort out the driver line up until we have secured funding and it is really difficult to find backers. Ben has been helping us out over the winter and has been really good for us. He is someone we’re considering.”

Bartrum also went on to say, “Ben was the consummate professional and he was very good. He’s a bit older and would do an excellent job in touring cars.” Motorbase are expectefd to announce their driver line up tomorrow.
