Jordan Receives Engine Ready For Testing
Andrew Jordan will be one of the first teams to try out the new NGTC engine supplied by Swindon Engines in time for them to start testing next week.
Jordan, who is driving for Pirtek Motorsport, will be using the NGTC Swindon Engine in the Vauxhall Vectra in which he ran in last seasons championship.
Alan Gow introduced the new NGTC rules, due to come in full effect from 2013, in a bid to cut the running cost’s of racing in the BTCC. Using the new TOCA engine which is available for hire or purchase will help cut the costs down to almost half of that which is currently being spent on running a racing team.
The TOCA engine is a 2-litre turbocharged, four-cylinder engine, which will be capped for 2010 to allow a same level of performance for those using the NGTC engine and S2000 spec cars.
David Pinkney and Pinkney Motorsport will also receive their TOCA engine ahead of the new season to allow pre-season testing.
