Bamboo chase Turkington

Bamboo engineering have emerged as a contender to sign reigning BTCC champion Colin Turkington. It was confirmed earlier today that Bamboo will compete in the WTCC this season (see separate story).

The team have already announced that Harry Vaulkhard and Daryl O’Young will be their drivers but the door is still open for a third driver. Furthermore, Colin Turkington appears to be top of the team’s hit list.

Speaking to Autosport, team principal Richard Coleman said, “We’d love to get him in the car. He’s a top-line driver and we’ve both got ambitions on an international scale.”

With Turkington known to be assessing his options and reportedly keen on a move to the WTCC, today’s statement of intent from Coleman could be the catalyst for a surprise but ultimately very intriguing driver switch.
