WTCC For Turkington Looks Likely

Despite unveiling the new West Surrey Racing at the Autosport International show last weekend it is understood that Colin Turkington has had firm offers from two Independant World Touring Car Championship teams. Both Wiechers-Sport and Proteam who are two of the front-runners in the WTCC are siad to have offered the Irishman a deal for 2010 but Turkington  is yet to confirm this. Speaking to Autosport Magazine he said,”I have some interesting offers on the table, but I have to think long and hard about my next move, because it will be a very important one for my career.”

The main reason for Turkington potentially looking elsewhere is the announcement of RAC leaving as title sponsors of WSR. This leaves a large gap in the finances of the team.

“I’m just having to keep my options open. I’m looking at BTCC, WTCC and the European Touring Car Cup, as are the team, but for me I’m not prioritising one championship over another.”
