Motorbase Test Bridgman and Collins
Racing pros Tim Bridgman and Ben Collins tested for the British Touring Car Championship squad Motorbase Performance at Brands Hatch on Tuesday. Tim Bridgman was the 2009 Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion with Ben Collins racing in single seater and GT series’.
The pair tested the team’s BMW 320si during the days freezing weather with both drivers impressing team principal David Bartrum. ”It was a shame it was so cold as neither really got a fair crack of the whip, but ultimately it’s been another good day with two very professional drivers. When a driver comes back and starts telling you what the differential is doing mid-corner – and he’s right – then you know you’ve got class in your car. If you had these two as a pairing you would not be unhappy,” said Bartrum.
The team have tested several drivers including Andrew Jordan, Steven Kane and Alex MacDowall since the end of the season, but have yet to decide the line up for 2010.
“What we’re doing at the moment is simply being pro-active – we feel it’s important to try drivers as we can get to know one another and it also gives them something with which to go back to sponsors.” Said Bartum.
