Forster Thrills and Spills at Brands

Earlier this week Forster Motorsport headed off to Brands Hatch with Arthur Forster and Martin Depper driving the BMW 320si as part of their pre-season testing ahead of the new BTCC season.

Both drivers got chance to give the car a run around the track but it didn’t go without incidents. Arthur was the first to fall foul of the greasy track as he had an off at Paddock Hill and put it into the tyre wall. Despite this the team were able to iron out some early handling issues which made the car better to drive.

When the team came out for the second day of testing they were welcomed with bad weather and a damp track. This gave the drivers the opportunity to see how the RWD car handles on slicks in these tricky conditions. This time it was Martin’s turn to take an excursion of the track as he got onto the wet grass and into tyres coming out of Druids. There wasn’t any main damage to the car and the mechanics we’re able to get it fixed and out for the afternoon session.

Arthur went on to say, “It’s been a great couple of day’s, with drivers and mechanics learning more about the car. A little later than expected we’re starting to tune into settings we like.”

The team have two more test sessions planned in the next couple of weeks as they return to Brands Hatch followed by a trip to Oulton Park the week after.
