Matt Neal: The man we all love to hate

Matt Neal has been around the BTCC scene some time now and some would say he is pretty good at it. If you was to ask anyone who has seen Matt Neal to describe his driving style, it would be fair to say that a high percentage would go for aggressive or attacking. Matt is never satisfied with the position in which he is in unless that’s first. For me that’s what would make a good racing driver but there’s just one thing… It’s the way he goes about it. Matt Neal has come under a lot of stick during his career but that’s what makes Matt the driver that he is. Take that aggressive driving style from him and you wouldn’t get half the driver that he is now. Don’t get me wrong, you wouldn’t see those sort of manouveres and tactics over on the F1 scene but in the BTCC he can get away with it (most of the time).

I wouldn’t put Matt down as one of the liked drivers in the paddock and pit lane as he’s had his fair share of squabbles in his time but I would put him down as a driver that you would love to have on your team, but hate it if he wasn’t.

So now I put the question to you. Is Matt Neal a bully or is he just a driver that loves to win and put on a show for all you spectators out there. I know what I think.
